Propane

Sometimes you have to worry about if the electricity is out. In our very secluded area seems to be something that we have to worry about constantly. I'd say at least twice a month we lose power. I really love to live off the grid, but I have no way to even start that process. So many of our appliances our electric that I'm not so sure I could come up with the money to have it transferred to propane.

We use propane in the house as back up heat along with using it for additional heat to help support the electric as well. Now don't come at me for having two sources of heat going on at the same time. Our heating and air unit can only keep the house at 74 wind temperatures are below 20. In the coming days, there is a winter storm moving our way, and with that comes the worry of losing power. I'm glad to know that we have propane heat as a back up. It is an expensive Plan B but it's one that we can rely on.

Now let's talk about getting it delivered in a timely fashion. Sometimes it takes more than three weeks for the delivery to actually occur in my area. I'm still beyond thankful for what I do have. We cannot use what heat due to my asthma. So it's either hospital bills or a different form of heat. As the days approach, I will mentally be preparing to deal with the bitter cold. Cross your fingers that the projected temperatures do not plummet at the levels that they have predicted.
