Descendant by Eva Truesdale
This is the first installment of the Shift Chronicles and I'm somewhat impressed with this young adult novel. The main character Alexandra is having to learn the world of being a shifter. She had recently lost her dad and now she has to face a world she know nothing about. She is strong female lead, so I was instantly hooked on this series.
I was however annoyed with most of the dialogue between characters. There could be so much more done in that area. I would happily rate this book a solid 3 out of 5. I did listen to this on Audible and the narration was flawless! Vanessa Johansson is fabulous and talented.
The story is very predictable, which kills the overall vibe of the werewolf world. There wasn't really a climatic moment in this first book and that was bothersome as well. I finished this book in the early hours of a Saturday morning. My toddler was restless with a fever or otherwise I would have been more interested in the story. My teenage nieces love this series, so I give it a valiant effort!
