Last Week of Summer Break
Reality hits this Thursday as teachers start their inservice days. I'm somewhat excited to start a new school year with new kiddos, but I'm going to miss time at home with my toddler. Although she drives me crazy, she's only two once.
This week I will be finishing up my college courses, mending fences, storing hay, and starting new lesson plans for the upcoming year. Teachers get the "first day of school" nerves as much as the students do. I'm anxious to meet my new team mates and visit with my old teacher friends. This summer has afforded me much needed time to redo think my classroom mindset on data, as well as, recreate/edit my curriculum calendar to include some of the items I've been learning about in class. This new information seems like a good fit for my subject area!
My goats are very sneaky and have found new ways to test our fences. We are currently looking for goat panels to replace the woven fence we currently have up. We have hot wire around the bottom, but that hasn't stopped them from gracefully jumping over. Their angelic jumping has been somewhat of a hassle the last few days. My babies are almost completely weened and ready to rejoin the main herd. I just want my smallest little guy to have some weight on him before we reintroduce them back.
Our hay supplier has cut us a deal! We just have to wait for the rain showers to subside for a few days and we can go get our first load. We store hay up for the winter and sometimes we do run low. This winter we hope our math adds up and we buy all we need ahead of time.
The lesson plans will be started sometime Wednesday, because I'm just not feeling it at the moment. I have to be in a paperwork mood to really get items like that done. My toddler has to be asleep too! She never gives me time to actually sit and work. I'm really looking forward to our CEU book club meetings (no sarcasm intended). I think I have learned more from the books we've read than any class I've taken.
