What a Harvest!

Sometimes you just have to wrap it in bacon! This fine piece of pork was spared no flavor tonight supper. Harvested from my best friend small pig farm, I am happy to share with you the results of my bacon wrapped pork roast.

It was a bountiful supper filled with delicious meat, sides, and a few vegetables from my garden that I had to put in the freezer. I know it don't look like much, but to me it means the world. Cooking brings me, solitude and contentment. My mom helped me prepare this meal and I am still learning all of her tips and tricks of cooking.

We also had a few deer Kabasa sausages to the side for additional flavor. That deer was harvested from my property and my husband made it into link sausages. It just feels more wholesome when more than 50% of the meal comes from the land and not a grocery store.

And before you ask, no we do not eat our goats. Or let me correct myself, I don't eat our goats. But if there ever come a time when we need protein, and I had went through all my chickens and geese....... goat would truly be on the menu then. I do like to eat lamb chops so maybe we might need to invest in a few sheep.
