Laughable Moments
I know one day I will look back on this moment, and I will completely laugh until I cry. I started noticing these small field mice going in and out from under our house. I think mice are disgusting. I placed out several different bait piles under the house full of rat poisoning. Girl, evidently I had a whole colony under the house. I cannot get to all their dead carcasses so we are having to deal with the horrendous smell.
My house smells absolutely nasty at the moment. The dead rat smell is so not in season. Although, I do not like mice living amongst me, next time I will try to use a different deterrent. I wonder what's attracting them to our home at the moment anyway? We have never had this issue like this in the past. Is there something I need to know?
I was walking out to the car this afternoon and saw a small one who seemed somewhat drunk. The lethargic mouse died instantly when I put the bucket over top of it. I guess I scared the poor thing to death. Apparently, I was overly dramatic as I was running to get the bucket. I don't remember screaming at the poor little thing, but I did. Everyone in the house had their moment of extreme laughter. Does anyone have any other suggestions of what I should use? Mothballs do not help. I hate putting out poison because when other animals eat the dead rats they could get like a secondary poisoning. And I don't want any of my dogs or animals to get into it. My neighbor suggested that I put peppermint oil out everywhere. But I don't know it would smell really good then, right?
