My favorite time of the day is actually
my long drive home. While driving, I blast my music and sing along in a “tone
deaf” manner. Sometimes I even manage to
multitask. I’ll be singing and trying to stay awake at the same time. I fight
sleep the whole way home, and often enough I’ll have to stop and walk around.
My early commute to work consists of crazy drivers who obviously got their license
from a Sears catalog. This morning was quite the treat. My phone wouldn’t stop
reminding me that I had unread emails, and there was this red car that followed
me almost to work.
Lesson planning is the joy of teaching.
Can you hear my sarcasm? When I make plans and have gone through the effort of
writing them down, I would at least like to try them out. Is seems as if
everything is working against E.O.G prep. I never get a full day’s instruction.
We have assemblies or someone wants to come in and talk. AHHHH! I never thought that teaching would have been
in time constraints like this. Literally, I feel as if there is the invisible wall
and I keep running head first into it. I had to postpone my awesome lesson of
altered books. I love teaching and I truly believe I work with the most
talented staff, but sometimes we need to work out our schedules.
Monday: (Lesson on Irony)
Students will be taught this in the library
Tuesday: (presentations) NO
CLASS (canceled)
Wednesday: (Earth Day)
Students will be out doing activities
Thursday and Friday: YEY!!!! I’ll get to move on with my lessons.
So, I would have originally only had class
two days this week. I love when things get canceled. I know they are going to
have a blast tomorrow, but I really want to see one of my classes in order to
have them start our next mini project. Teaching is a waiting game. You have to
wait and see if you have time to complete all the wonderful plans you have
made. I really love teaching and honestly it’s a place where I feel that I’m
making the biggest difference.
Cancelation has been the best news I’ve
had all week!!!
