Spring Break is Officially Over
School starts back tomorrow and I'm really not prepared to go back. I really like sleeping in. E.O.G prep begins this week for my students. I have everything packed up for tomorrow. After planning all week, it's hard to believe its Sunday already. Where did all the time go? This week has passed by super fast and all I want to do is sleep, get up,and drive to work in the morning.
This time last year I was planning my graduation. There has been such a change in my life in just a year. A year of challenges and successes. Failure was never an option, but failures make us stronger. I'm thankful for my job, the staff I work with, and most of all the students. This group of students will be missed as they move on. Honestly, I think everyone remembers their first classes they taught. Having all this time off has made me reflect on my teaching practices. I have come to understand that I'm a hands on teacher who loves movement with in her classroom.
I know break is over due to the fact that I have checked my employee email, graded papers, and made preparations for tutoring days. Oh the joy of teaching.
First Day Back!
I hadn't realized how much I missed my classes and students. The drive here was horrible and I passed a huge wreck. I hope those people were okay. There was at least six emergency people there. The rain was just ridiculous. The wreck signified that I needed to slow down and really pay attention.
When I got to my classroom, I realized that I had left my lesson plan book in my car. I had to quickly formulate an idea. My classes are reading, "Annabel Lee" by Edger Allan Poe. This poem was amazing in class today. So many of my female students responded to it. The imagery created in the poem was fantastic. Hopefully, I will use it again next year.
