Santa's Land in Cherokee, NC

Ummmm... What the heck did I get myself into? I thought this would be a nice little activity to do with my toddler, but this run down establishment was a total waste of money. Over $80 bucks for my husband, my two year old and myself to get in. I will not be doing that again. The lady at the window was totally rude too. That should have been my first clue to turn around and run!

The train didn't run the two hours we were there and the Santa shop was closed until 2:00 PM. I know she would have loved to ride the train.  There was only three rides that I deemed safe enough for my child to get on. The small ferris wheel looked like it was at least 40 or more years old. Cover up that rust! Everything was rusted and seemed to be falling apart. Even some of the walk ways needed some TLC.  The water down at the paddle boats smelled awful (and was brown) and I wasn't about to get on one of those dinky paddle boats. With my luck, the boat would have tipped over! Most of the attractions (buildings) were in shambles and smelled heavily of mildew. There was trash everywhere and little to no staff, but they did have two activity buses full of small children present. Maybe they are not used to having that many people inside at one time? I know the restrooms looked like a small war zone.

My child did enjoy the limited things that was available, but for the price I was expecting more. At least have the rides you advertise open and ready to go. There should have been a price cut for all the things that was NOT open and operational. Small county fairs offer more than this park. What is the actual appeal? The animals were well cared for, but the pens/ enclosures were super small.

I would rate that place a 0 out of 5 stars. Do not waste your time or money. They need a face lift, more rides, and possibly a refresher for the staff. Have some manners or don't hire old hateful decrepit women to greet your guests. The lady at the ticket booth was ridiculous!!!
