Darnell Farms in Bryson City, NC

An afternoon spent with family is priceless. I know the hayride was well worth it seeing my toddlers face. She just couldn't stop smiling and giggling.

I wish we would have had a few more minutes in the pumpkin patch, but I also understand that time is money. I was overly enthusiastic about the whole experience. We have made this into a family tradition and will make the trip on a yearly basis. These traditions will live on with her even when I'm gone. I want her to have these memories, because I never had that chance. My family didn't have the extra income and moments like this did exist for me.

I splurged and bought the hayride wrist bands. Our tractor driver was super sweet and made Taylor's evening by giving a a pumpkin her "size." He didn't have to do that, but I appreciate it. He was super nice and took us for a joy ride at the end before dropping us off at the truck.

The views were breath taking as well and did I mention the food trucks that were on site? We had an entire evening at the farm with food, entertainment, festivities, and swings. I was impressed this season with the new additions. Live music makes everything better.

This venue is kid friendly so take your little ones with you. The blow up bouncy house was a hit with my child. Although some parents need to do a better job of "watching" their children. The staff and farm hands are all beyond nice and inviting.

Take a look at that beautiful sky and marvelous pumpkin patch. My personal favorite thing to do is take pictures. I didn't share any of my images that show Taylor's face. I do that on purpose. It will be her choice to share those one day.   I took around 345 photos today, which seems over the top, but we only do this once a year.

I buy produce here on a weekly basis, but we don't venture out on their extra events and spend money. Produce is the exception. I do grow a small garden but we supplement the extra items that I do not grow with produce from Darnells. Their chow-chow is hands down worth the trip. We love it with our pinto beans and potatoes.

We ended our adventure with a pumpkin dream whip. We shared this treat on the front porch in rocking chairs. Taylor seemed to enjoy this the most! I'm already looking forward to next season and hope to enjoy this tradition again.

I love that this place is a family business! Support your local small farms and business.
