The Lost Sea.... Sweetwater TN
It's beautiful... well, what I could see of it. It was a massive disappointment for me, honestly due to the fact that the cave was not illuminated to the point where I felt safe. At no point in the introduction did they mention that you needed to bring your own flashlight. Safety hazard! I ended up smacking into the ceiling, which was about a foot below my height. I didn't even see it coming.
At one point during your tour, they turned the lights off in the cavern so you can experience total darkness. My toddler decided that was the time to scratch my eyeball out, literally. I ended up going to fast pace healthcare while in Sweetwater Tennessee. Once we arrived home three hours later, I ended up in our local ER. I have orbital scratches on my eyes from my child. It has been absolutely painful. All the occurred on Sunday and I'm still dealing with the repercussions of our adventure. This one will go down in the books as an epic failure.
I would not recommend going to the wall. See if you have any issues with walking in the dark. As a child, my school took us there on a field trip and I remember it being very well lit. It is almost hazardous. Anyway, don't go unless your kids are at least 8 and up. By the way, the price is absolutely ridiculous as well. The tour groups got out of sync and out of timeslots so my husband and child did didn't even get to really enjoy the boat ride because there was two groups behind them waiting to go out on the water. The tour guide himself actually made the comment that he had to cut them 12 minute short.
The boat ride evidently is the best part and getting that cut short was really disappointing. I did not attempt to get on the boat because I was sitting on a bench in tears because my eye was in absolute agony. It always seems that when we try to do something fun..... nothing goes to plan. Better luck next time I guess.
