Some Girls Are. by Courtney Summers


     Have you ever picked up a book and high school is a giant flashback again? Well, this is that book for me. I wanted regina, the protagonist, to get some sort of revenge on the mean girls club that she was kicked out of. Regina, our main character, was once one of the main girls who absolutely tortured Liz. She is by no means perfect and she admits all of her faults. It takes one fatal move and suddenly you're kicked out of your social group.

    I hate to be a book spoiler, but our main character almost gets raped in the first five chapters so be careful while you're reading this book.  As it turns out the young man, he tried to do it ends up being one of the mean girls current boyfriend. Will they believe Regina story? You will have to read to find out.

    Every high school I have ever heard about has these friends who won't let anyone in. They get away with everything, and they're the mean girls club. I do not like how this book ends. It's almost as if they ran out of funding to add additional pages or if she just simply gave up midway. Being left with so many questions unanswered also makes me frustrated as a reader. If she ends all of her books like this, I'm not so sure I would be a fan. However, I was still rate this book at 3.5 out of five stars.

Lists 2.0

 #40. Fly in a plane.  Check A+.       I did end up flying in a plane. The year I turned 30 was one of the best year's of my life so far. My best friend/ sister convinced me to go to the infamous Vegas. The four hour flight was breathtaking and I will forever remember the feeling of lifting off. I do not ever really want to fly again. We hit some MAJOR turbulence on the way home and I was frightened to the point I had a panic attack.      We enjoyed seven days of shows,  shopping, and exploring. We averaged over 15,000 steps a day and slept well at night. That was what life was like before children. My sister and I could take off with a moment's notice and go where ever. We took off to NYC to watch the ball drop one year. As it turns out it isn't an actual ball at all.  #45. Save a life.      Well, this one is really out there. Water Blisters?

      Working on the water during freezing temperatures has its battle scares. My gloves had grown stiff due to the water temperature and I carelessly removed them. My hand carries the results of that dumb choice. This is the first time I have never had this happen. I'm a little concerned as it seems to be spreading. I'll check in at Urgent Care this afternoon.
