Life is...

LIFE IS... Life is hard, rough, and mean. Life can be what we want it to be. Life can break us down and leave us withering in the sun. Life and choke us out and leave behind all the fun. Life is about living it up and being done. We can embrace what life has given us, Or we can all take that ride on the short bus. We can sell live and let it pass us by, or be small child who forgot how to tie. Life is surreal and engulfs us in our entirety until everyone is mellow and there is no variety.  We can run from our nightmares, but not our lives. We can take the ladder and not do the dives. Play it safe and let live lead you, or take the reins and ride into the blue.

Learning To Start Small

Planning and creative thinking are always a bad combination, especially when I'm involved. My lessons seem okay, but when I go to pick up materials...       With my new classes I think we will learn to define ourselves as writers first and then tackle the grammar. Writing isn't always the most exciting pare of my daily routine, but editing and seeing all the mistakes. Everything we write can only improve when we take a second glance. Starting small will be very hard for my rather large class. They have so many ideas and we have little time to accomplish what we need.                  Class time is always a delicate wire that could possible be cut by invisible scissors. I think our first project will be comparing life to a highway or map. I haven't really decided how they are going to present the information, but hopefully between now and Monday the thought will cross my mi...

Dress Shoes

One of my students today brought up an interesting idea. He believes that one's life can be summed up in your plethora of shoes. Looking back into this topic I think that this does hold some weight in today's society.         I came home and dug out my shoes. If I'm defined by my ownership of shoes, then I'm in some serious trouble. The older I get the more my shoe choice has changed. I had everything from tennis shoes to simple black flats. Ah, yes and most are bought for comfort not style. Its funny to examine myself via shoes. I have grown to see myself as a necessity individual and not a fashion person who buys on a whelm. Day TWO       I looked around at what my peers were choosing to wear. HUMMMMMM......       The more I took notice of shoes choice the more I came aware of age. We seem to be tied to our every growing age, and our clothing and shoes styles change as we age. The point of being an ...

Hope

Hope             Hope is the overwhelming feeling of accomplishment when there is a futile chance of winning a battle. The underdog is most often the uneducated participant that is left behind in the dust, who no one thinks will succeed.             Hope is the little girl who dreams of singing at recitals that might not happen. She doesn’t concede to the fears, but she does keep this in mind. She gets up on a daily basis to practice until she is out of breath. She has this "hope" that one day all her effort will pay off, and who is to say she is wrong?             To be such a small word it can have a huge impact on who we are as a people. Our past incidents can only be fixed when we know what our future holds. After knowing this, one must also think about the fact that our future is like shifting sand. We never...
