INSURGENT

I'm so thrilled that there is finally a set of books that I can read with my classes. This book was especially great due to the up coming movie. As a class we read DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth and they were so into it. As long as they are willing to read, I will go to any extent to get the books. I ended saving money from each check to purchase enough copies for my entire class. Our youth today needs to have literature they can associate themselves with. Literature circles is what makes my classes thrive. This is a grade appropriate book that allows my students to do a full character analysis and they have also completed the author's notes that came along with my Ebook that is one my phone.        I have spent my evenings reading ahead of my students and preparing discussion questions. I'm thankful for our snow days, so I had time to fully finish the book. As a reward for reading the book I will be taking my classes out to w...

Being From the OUTSIDE

Fitting in wasn't always easy growing up and now that I'm teaching in a neighboring community I find that I'm truly a stranger. Wow, to be young and not know anyone. I can see that within my own community many "outsiders" always remain so due to the fact that they are different. I feel as if you have to grow up here to fit in. I wonder if I rejected peers because they weren't from here? I would like to think the best, but I doubt I was friendly.       After much complication, I discovered that I'll just have to try harder and make the extra effort to be at all sporting events. This will be my plan for the next few months. I'll keep you posted on the progress.  I want to teach in the community, so I'll try my best!

Snow IS OVERRATED!

I have spent the last two week cooped up in my home. Small towns are boring anyway, but to be trapped for days with the same three people is really tiring and not to mention debilitating. Luckily I did have the opportunity to have school on Monday. I really miss my students and having that time taken away will really hurt my curriculum guide.     I did find things to occupy my laziness.       The long days trapped inside my home resulted in cold freezing walks to the mail box. There is nothing as beautiful as a freshly fallen snow. I just love the way it attaches itself to the trees. As you can see it took several days before we attempted to drive the car down the driveway.        It seems as if I wasn't the only one who needed out to the house. Dad finally gave in and invited me to ride out to Rainbow Falls. The ice is now completely in the road and will soon be impassible. These pictures were t...

Days........................

Thoughts… I think sometimes we lose ourselves in the “what ifs.” What if all you did in life was wonder what you did wrong?     Thoughts of you are weary, And they always seem dreary. Friendship was never bound, But you left without a sound. I worshiped every thought you had, And smiled at all your bad. Thoughts are always with me. Our friendship was a rocky sea. You left this world too soon, My world was popped like a balloon. I stand beside your grave Trying my best to be brave.
